One Hit Wonders of the ’80s: 1986 – Ta Mara and the Seen

“Everybody Dance” by Ta Mara and the Seen

Ta Mara and the Seen were part of the successful “Minneapolis sound” of the mid-’80s which included acts such as Prince, Vanity 6, Sheila E., and The Time. Their lone top 40 hit was “Everybody Dance”, from their self-titled debut. The song peaked at #24 on January 18, 1986. A 1988 follow-up album, Blueberry Gossip, failed to catch on and the group disbanded in 1989.

  1. Oh man, I forgot about this one! Once I heard the beginning, though, I could tell Prince and/or Morris Day had a hand in it.
