Question: In what movie did Robert Duvall play a recovering alcoholic country music singer, for which he won an Oscar?
Last Question: What show followed a group of gifted students in the Individualized Honors Program?
Answer: Head of the Class
Head of the Class ran from 1986 to 1991 on ABC. It starred Howard Hesseman (best known as WKRP in Cincinnati‘s Dr. Johnny Fever) as history teacher (and out-of-work actor) Charlie Moore for the gifted IHP students. Although the students were gifted academically, they had plenty of other problems that Charlie helped them to solve.
In 1988, Head of the Class broke new ground as it became the first American sitcom to be filmed in the Soviet Union. The episode was entirely filmed in Moscow.
The show “jumped the shark” in its final season as Howard Hesseman left the show, and was replaced by Billy Connolly. Connolly’s Billy MacGregor replaced Charlie Moore. To the student’s dismay, Mr. Moore’s acting career took off. The show concluded with the IHP students graduating from high school.

Right when a man’s doin’ all that he planned
And he thinks he’s got just what he needs
Life will deliver a shock that will shiver
And drive him down to his knees
The American people, the most generous on earth, who created the highest standard of living, are not going to accept the notion that we can only make a better world for others by moving backwards ourselves. Those who believe we can have no business leading the nation.
