We’ll Be Back After These Messages…

Hi Everybody, I’m sorry for the lack of posts this week. Yours truly ran a 5K obstacle course race this past weekend. At the end of one of the obstacles, I had to jump from a barrel into water, then run up a bank. When I landed in the water, I had the pleasant surprise of landing on the side of a rock just right so my ankle twisted and sprained pretty good. Being the lunatic that I am, I did end up finishing the race. But, when I took my shoe and sock off when I got home, my ankle literally blew up like a balloon. Luckily, it’s just a sprain. But, it is very difficult to think and write with my laptop while lying on my back with my leg raised. Hopefully, I’ll be back better than ever by next week. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with some fun ’80s commercials. See you soon!

  1. By the way, that Coffee Achievers ad with Cicely Tyson is downright surreal.
…Because coffee is the calm moment that lets you think…coffee gives you the time to dream it…then you’re ready to…smack some guy upside the head??
I remembered the Ken Anderson ad, but somehow I’d forgotten hers unti I saw the “slap.” Wow.

    1. I remembered that commercial as soon as I heard the music. At the time that this first aired, I had no idea who Cicely Tyson was. Hmm. Is she related to Mike Tyson? 🙂
And I had forgotten how much I liked the Miller Beer jingles.

      1. And because of that music, I’m searching iTunes for some ELO. They should give you a percentage.

Miller Beer, Michelob Light, Budweiser, Lowenbrau…they all had some good jingles back then.

      2. LOL! Instead of them paying me, I end up spending more money on them too! And if there was an album with all those beer jingles, or any ’80s commercial jingles, I would buy that too!

  2. Sorry to hear about your ankle sprain. I hope it’s better by now since this was already a while ago and I am just now getting caught up with my inbox.

    1. Thanks so much! I’m getting better now. I just got off the crutches this past weekend, and I’ve been driving into work this week. It still hurts a lot though. I just want to get back to running again! The weather is so perfect for it right now, and I can barely walk, never mind run. Eventually I’ll be able to get back to it.

        1. Thanks. Yeah, the first doctor I went to said he thought he saw a bone broken. Then I had to go to another doctor, and that doctor said he didn’t see anything broken. I think it’s just a nasty sprain.
