Little Billy: Help make this cartoon, set in the ’80s, a reality

I don’t know about you, but I love seeing ’80s pop culture thriving these days. ’80s songs are being used in more and more TV advertisements. There are great shows set in the ’80s, such as The Goldbergs, Stranger Things, Red Oaks and G.L.O.W. Now we have the opportunity to see the ’80s in animated form! But, we need your help.

Little Billy is the brainchild of The Simpsons® Emmy-Award Winning animator and Tourette Syndrome conqueror, Chance Raspberry. This series could be groundbreaking in so many ways. Chance is creating the first animated series to encompass the entire spectrum of neurodiversity. It is also the first and only series created by somebody with Tourette Syndrome. And instead of just giving Billy Tourettes, Chance created a fictitious condition called UHS-Ultra Hyper Sensitivity. In addition to having symptoms of Tourettes, UHS has the symptoms of other neurodiversities such as OCD, ADHD, and Autism. Billy is a symbol that represents the entire special needs community. As you can see, if you, or any of your children have any of those conditions, there is finally a series and a character that you can relate to. And being set in the ’80s is a huge bonus!

Why the ’80s connection? Chance grew up in the ’80s. As a child dealing with Tourettes he turned to animation. Whether it be tracing, drawing or watching animated shows, he found an outlet to cope with his condition. When he was watching cartoons, he was drawing. When he was drawing, he was no longer ticcing. Harnessing his talents, he has had a decade long career on The Simpsons, and became a lead animator on the show.

In addition to the Little Billy animated show, there is a Little Billy product line! There are prints for Count Cheekula Cereal by General Bills, as well as t-shirts. There are also posters and stickers.

Does this style look familiar?

In order to get everything up and running, Chance has created an Indiegogo campaign to raise $10,000. Not only will this help with the production and distribution of the Little Billy series, but a part of the money will go to the Tourette Association of America.

Here is a video of Chance explaining everything to you:

If you are able to contribute to this great cause, please go to Every little bit helps. And if you are unable to help financially, you can help by spreading the word, and post all over any social media sites you may have. You may have friends, family, or followers who live with, deal with, or know someone who has Tourette Syndrome, ADHD, OCD, Autism, Down Syndrome, or any other neurodiversity. Let’s keep the ’80s alive, and raise money for a good cause all at the same time!

  1. This is awesome! I got one pledge for my wife. She’s going to love this Christmas gift. I’ve been fighting cancer 8 years and she’s never left my side. I owe her the world. The Simpsons have been a huge part of my life. Can’t wait to watch the show. Blessings!
