It was 100 years ago today (October 9, 1919) that the Cincinnati Reds won the World Series over the Chicago White Sox. The win would be tainted when 8 members of the White Sox were charged with throwing the series. The film Eight Men Out, based on the Eliot Asinof novel, was released in 1988.
