My Bod0yguard, was released in July 1980, and was the beginning of Matt Dillon’s teen idol status. The movie also starred Chris Makepeace, who had just starred in Meatballs with Bill Murray. Dillon played Melvin Moody, a bully who terrorized Makepeace’s Clifford. Clifford then enlists the help of school outcast, Ricky.

Ricky was played by Adam Baldwin (unrelated to THE Baldwins). Adam has been on a roll in recent years, starring in the cult phenom Firefly, and just finishing up his great role of John Casey in Chuck.

Chris Makepeace started off well, starring in Meatballs and My Bodyguard, but did not really star in any other major films. He has not appeared in any movies since 2001.

Matt Dillon was no flash-in-the-pan. He has had quite a long and successful career. He was hilarious in 1998’s There’s Something About Mary, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2005’s Crash.
