30 Day Song Challenge: Day 4 – A Song That Makes You Sad

“(Just Like) Starting Over” makes me sad because it was John Lennon’s last song that was released while he was alive. It was released on October 24, 1980, and reached #1 in the UK and US 2 weeks after Lennon was murdered.

I believe that John Lennon would still be releasing great music today if he were still alive. This is a great song, and it breaks my heart whenever I hear it.

  1. Mr. Lennon was hit-or-miss with me, but I liked that song. Good choice.

Mine is “My Heart Can’t Tell You No” by Rod Stewart.

It really hit home with me when it was released…but it’s so good I listen to it anyway.

    1. That’s a good choice. When I was in Desert Shield, I bought tons of cassette tapes. They were 90 minute tapes that only cost $3. They had the greatest hits of every possible person you could think of, and some tapes that had various artists. For some reason, I bought one that had “Homesick” in the title, and this Rod Stewart one was on there.
